Big Santa

Start your next tradition with a family picture with our very own 20-foot Santa Claus. We promise this mega Santa will make a memory your kids will never forget!

Upon arrival at Lights of West, we will provide each youngster with a fun template to complete their Christmas wish list. They can “mail” their letter to Santa in our North Pole mail box located at Big Santa at the end of the drive-thru park.

Big Santa is made of fiberglass and has a pretty cool story.  We found him on Facebook marketplace from a closed down Christmas tree farm in Fort Worth, Texas.  From what we have discovered, these huge santas were originally made in the 1950s and at some point, in the 1960s the molds were destroyed in a factory fire.

Later in the 1980s the retailer, Bronner’s out of Michigan, found one of the santas they had sold at a town square. They negotiated to use him in order to re-build some molds and have sold them ever since. You can buy one yourself for around $17,000.

After obtaining the instructions from Bronner’s, we quickly realized we had purchased one of the originals, meaning our Big Santa is likely around 60 years old! The Lights of West families had a restoration party and all 13 family members repaired and repainted the old giant.

We love our Santa and we know you will too!  Don’t forget to like and tag Lights of West on your Facebook and Instagram family picture posts with #bigsanta and #lightsofwest so we can share in your family’s joy as well!
